Toshiba SD-P73DTW is the company's newest portable DVD Player, which was released yesterday in Japan at a price of 40 000 Yen (€340). Besides the obvious DVD playback function, it also comes with a 7” 480 x 234 LCD display, 1 Seg TV tuner and the capability to record 1Seg TV programs on a SD or SDHC card on the fly.

The UMID M1 is a new UMPC for the Korean market. It will be released on February 20th in the home market, but we have no info on the possible release in other countries. Features are as follows:

• 4.8" display with 1,024 x 600 resolution;
• WiBro, HSDPA, WiMAX, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity;
• Intel Atom processor;
• 512MB/1GB RAM;
• Up to 32GB SSD;
• Windows XP/Vista/Linux OS;

Hopefully the price for this one is reasonable.

Fujifilm unveiled its latest digital picture frame called DP-70HS in Japan. It comes with a nice 7” WVGA (800x480) display with a 176 degrees view angle, brightness of 350cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. It also offers 256MB of internal memory + SD/SDHC memory card slot. Unfortunately, the DP-70HS doesn't support video or audio playback.

Check out the new Roper Mobile Duros 8404. It's a rugged tablet PC capable of withstanding temperatures from -20C to 50C (from -4F to 122F), and hard drops from 1.2m (4 feet) height. It doesn't include shock protection, though. Other features are as follows:

• 8.4" touchscreen display at 800 x 600 resolution (readable under direct sunlight);
• 500MHz AMD Geode LX 800/1.0GHz Intel Celeron M processors;

Elecom will release a new waterproof SDHC card (IPX7) this month, which will provide data transfer speeds of 6MB/sec, and will come in either 4GB or 8GB capacities. Pricing details are kept secret for now.

CFD has announced a new 2.5’’ SATA SSD in Japan. The drive provides a reading speed of 150MB/s, and writing speed of 90MB/s, and you can choose between 30GB (~€70), 60GB (~€130), and 120GB (~€240) of storage capacity.
