Cydle has introduced a number of its new devices which include an HD Radio enabled PND called the Cydle T43H, a Cydle M7 MID, and a couple of PND/PMP combo devices, the T70 and T50. Here's what they have to offer:

The Cydle T43H:

• Internal HD Radio/HD Traffic antenna and external aerial connector;
• PMP functionality;
• SD card slot (up to 8GB cards supported)

It’s already on sale, priced at $299 with no subscrlption fees.

Eston has announced two new UMPCs, called the MID-05 and N97. Both share the same features except that the latter comes with a larger touchscreen and 3G support. Following are the detailed specs for both devices:

• Wi-Fi b/g;

Getac came up with a new ruggedized handheld known as the PS236. This device is mainly targeted at field-based workforce, and has the following features:

• Embedded GPS;
• 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity;
• 3Mpix camera with autofocus;
• 10-hour battery life;
• Up to 12GB of storage space;
• 3.5" VGA touchscreen display with sunlight readability;
• Windows Mobile 6.1;
• MIL-STD 810G compliant and IP67 rated for dust and water resistance;
• Marvell PXA310 806 MHz processor;
• 128Mb Onboard MDDR;
• 4GB internal memory

The price hasn't been announced yet.

Chinese manufacturer Sinchun has released a new UMPC, called the UMPC-501 A. The device is very portable measuring at 160 x 95 x 22 mm, and weighing in just 350 grams, and offers the following features:

• 5" 800 x 480 touchscreen display;
• Intel Atom Z510 1.1GHz processor;
• Windows XP Home;
• 1GB RAM;
• 8GB to 32GB SSD;
• Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity;
• Integrated 3G module;
• Built-in SiRFstar III GPS chipset

It will cost approx. $441 when it hits the stores mid-September.

The new Optima's OP5-E MID will be released as soon as its ongoing software testing finishes. It will have a form factor similar to that of a Nokia N810 Internet tablet, while the features will include:

• Marvell PXA320 806MHz processor;
• 128MB RAM;
• 256MB ROM;
• microSD memory card slot;
• 4.3" WVGA resistive touchscreen display;
• Built-in 3G connectivity;

Jointech JE100 is a new ebook reader that features a 7" LCD touchscreen display instead of the e-ink screen found on the majority of such devices. The LCD screen also suggests using a more durable battery, so the company has included a 1,500mAh battery pack, which should provide up to 6 hours of work.

Features of the JE100 include:

• 7" LCD touchscreen display;
• 400MHz processor;
• 128MB flash memory;
• 64MB RAM;
• Two USB ports;
• Integrated speaker and audio output socket;
• 1,500mAh battery;
• 3 to 6 hours of battery life

Pricing wasn't announced.

It looks like Nokia doesn't intend to leave the internet tablet market, as another such device has been spotted recently. The new

N900 has the following features:

• 59.7mm x 111mm x 18.2mm dimensions;
• 3.5" 800x480 (WVGA) touchscreen display;
• OMAP3430 500/600 MHz processor;
• 5.0Mpix Carl Zeiss camera with dual-LED flash and auto-focus;
• 1GB total virtual runtime memory;
• Wi-Fi and HSPA connectivity;
• GPS navigation;
• Built-in accelerometer

Why wouldn't they make a netbook or a MID instead?

Viliv has introduced its latest MID, the X70, which is a successor to the S5 model. The new model has the same GUI as the S5, and also comes with a clever flip-case, with a mount allowing the device to rotate and use the case as a stand.  Its features include:

• 7" WSVGA touchscreen;
• 1.33GHz Intel Atom CPU;
• 1GB of RAM;
• 32GB SSD;
• Integrated 3G;
• Webcam;
• USB;
• SD card slot
