altM&A has launched its new Companion Touch, a tablet PC based on Intel's Convertible Classmate netbook for educational purposes. Similar in specifications to the 2GO Classmate Convertible PC, it costs $499.99 and offers the following features:
  • 8.9" touchscreen display (adjusts orientation automatically);
  • Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor;
  • 1GB RAM;
  • 60GB hard drive;
  • 4-cell battery;
  • Windows XP Home operating system;
  • 1.3 megapixel webcam;
  • Integrated handle;
  • Customizable skin;
  • Wi-Fi connectivity;
  • 2-in-1 memory card slot;
