Cowon has released the TV-enabled version of its D2 player, the D2TV. Here's what it offers:

- Videos: WMV, MPEG4, DIVX, and XVID all at 30fps
- Audio files: MP3, OGG, FLAC, WAV, WMA, APE

The new Cowon Q5W portable media player has arrived in the U.S. just in time for the holiday season. It offers the same features as its Asian equivalent, which are:

- 40GB/60GB memory capacity
- 5" 800x480 resolution TFT display
- 802.11g/b Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth 2.0
- Windows CE 5.0 OS
- Support for DivX, XviD, MPEG4, WMV7/8/9, MP3, WMA, Ogg Vorbis, Wave, FLAC, APE, MusePack, NEF and JPEG formats
- S-Video

The Q5W PMP will be available starting next week for $549.99 or $599.00 depending on memory capacity.

Mpio presents its latest flash-based digital audio player, the MG-200. Its features include support for MP3 and WMA audio files, as well as some video formats, SDHC slot (up to 8GB), FM tuner, and long life battery providing up to 18 hours of continuous music playback. The device has the following dimensions and weight: 85.6x39.1x10.8mm and 42 grams respectively. Unfortunately, it will only be available in the Japanese market in a choice of 1GB, 2GB or 4GB variants.

Haier America introduced its new ibiza Rhapsody Wi-Fi media player that gives users full access to the Rhapsody digital music service, along with AOL Video and other content via Wi-Fi network.

iRiver presents its newest creation, the armband kit for Clix media players. The kit is consists of a crystal case and a stylish band, which can be cut to match the diameter of your arm. A clip system secures the armband. Unfortunately, this cool accessory is only available in Korea for 16,800 won (about $18). No word on whether it will appear in other markets. The player itself is available on Amazon.com for $239.99.

Microsoft has released the version 2 firmware update for their first Zune player. Now 1G Zune owners will be able to experience all the benefits of the Zune 2 on their old device. This is an unprecedented move made by Microsoft, and other manufacturers should take it as an example. To update your player go to www.zune.net and make your old Zune new again!

The new Memorex MMP8551 is a nice small music player, a little similar to a 2G iPod, with a simple design and no screen. Unlike the iPod, the MMP8551 has a circular shape with a large play button in the middle, and is apparently designed for the ladies. It measures 2.3" x 2.3" x 0.8", has only 512MB of memory and supports MP3, WMA, and WMA audio file formats. The price should be very low considering its specifications.

Technonia IXING TM-M1 presents its new ultra-slim media player, measuring just 5.6mm thick. It comes with a 1.5" OLED display and a touch button. The player features 2GB capasity, video playback capability, USB 2.0 connectivity, image/text viewer, FM radio and voice recording. The price is 99,000 Won or$109.

Yung Fun introduced the new DVB-700 portable media player today, a pretty unusual device featuring a handle so users could transport it easily. Plus, the player is quite large and heavy for a mobile device measuring 8.25" x 5.5" x 1.125" and weighing a whole kilogramm. Other features include a large 7" LCD screen, support for various multimedia formats, built-in speaker, headphone jack, remote control F-Type antenna, and AV-out.

The new PMP-M28 player from Longhorn Technology is one of the most multifunctional PMP out there. Not only does it support a large variety of multimedia formats, it can also convert files from one format to another:

- DVD, TV, VCR and DV input - to ASF/AFI video format.
- CDs, MP3s, and MIC files - to WAV audio format.

Other supported files include JPEG, BMP, GIF, and PNG images and MPEG-4, DivX, and Xvid vidos, and even PowerPoint files. In addition, M28 features FM radio receiver, e-book reader, and camn display lyrics. What more can you ask for?
