Laptops: AT&T are to Make 34,000 New Wi-Fi Hotspots Available
AT&T has one of the largest Wi-Fi networks in the world which continues to expand. They have recently announced that they are expanding their roaming wi-fi access for small business and residential users to 34,000 hotspot locations in 79 countries. This means that wireless internet will be available even if you are thousands of miles from home or office.
Plans start from $21.99 for AT&T/Yahoo! High Speed internet subscribers.
It is possible that Apple will use NAND flash memory in their laptop computers later this year. This technology will also be implemented in Apple's sub-notebook computers. Flash memory has many benefits in comparison with hard-disk drives: it is lighter, more compact, provides faster computer boot-up and consumes less power. Also flash is more reliable concerning data storage. At first it will be a bit more expensive, but prices will drop in time. Who knows, maybe soon HDD will become history...

Samsung has announced the shipping of their new electronic device, the latest MH80 2.5-inch hybrid hard drives (HHD). It is optimized to work with Windows Vista capable notebook PCs .
The drive will come with 80, 120, and 160 GB memory capacities and a flash memory of 128 Mb or 256 MB. By combining a traditional magnetic hard disk and a flash memory, this hybrid drive is meant to resume operations more quickly, and boot faster.
Since it consumes less power than standard hard drives, the drive is less vulnerable to damage from shocks and drops.
