Asus has recently introduced its new Ecobook laptop that features a bamboo-covered case and recyclable plastic within. Also, there are no components that use paints, sprays, or electroplating. A truly "green" laptop indeed. :)
Laptops: Fujitsu FMV-S8340 FMV-LIFEBOOK Now Available in Japan
Fujitsu introduced the new FMV-S8340 Lifebook in Japan.
Lifebook is a business-class laptop that runs on Windows Vista Business OS and comes with Microsoft Office 2007 Personal and a multitude of other high-quality features that make it a perfect notebook for business professionals. The laptop has a widescreen LCD display and a fingerprint sensor for more security.

Dell now offers laptops with 250GB 2.5" hard drives that spin at 5400 RPM, use SATA interface and come with 8MB of cache memory. The supplier of these hard drives is yet unknown.

This thing is very expensive: only the CPU upgrade will cost you $4000, let alone upgrading RAM and Hard Disks. Besides the new upgraded CPU, everything else remains the same.
