
On Wednesdy at CES 2009 the SD Association announced its new
SDXC specification, which will allow for up to 2TB of storage capacity and read/write speeds up to 104MBps (with future expansion up to 300MBps) for SD memory cards! The new SDXC cards will use Microsoft’s exFAT file system and will be compatible with a wide range of PCs, consumer and mobile electronics. The first SDXC cards and devices supporting them will be available in late 2009 - early 2010.
