
Meet the
Clarion MiND,
a newly announced PMP-GPS hybrid. MiND stands for "Mobile Internet
Navigation Device", and offers everything you need in a media player +
GPS navigation and support for cellular networks. Here are some of the
device's specs:
- Display: 4.8" WVGA Touchscreen display (800 x 400)
- Capacity: 4GB SSD memory plus microSD expansion
- Processor/OS: Intel Atom Processor (800MHz) and Linux OS
- Audio and Video: MP3, WMA, AAC, Ogg, H.264, WMV, MPEG-4, and Real video
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0
- Mozilla Firefox internet browser w/ flash support, Youtube and Myspace tabs
- Apps: E-mail, Calculator, Wordpad, etc...
- GPS Navigation
- Battery life: 2 hours from standard battery, 4 hours for extended battery
The Clarion MiND will first appear in the US and Canada in November,
and will cost $649. The Europe will get it in January 2009 for 649
Euros. The "Premium" model, which supports 3G will be available Spring
2009.
