Dell has launched the largest notebook in its
Vostro series, the
1710 model,
announced at the beginning of the month. As usual, it offers a decent
choice of components to be added, and is now available for order, with
estimated shipping on June 3rd, priced from $799 depending on the
configuration. You can choose your parts from the following list:
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T9500 CPUs (up to the 2.6GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB chip)
- LCD: 17", 1440×900 WXGA+ or 1920×1200 WUXGA
- RAM: Up to 4GB
- OS: Windows XP Pro and Home, as well as all the Vista versions
- ODD: 24x DVD/CD-RW combo drive or an 8x DVD+/-RW with double-layer DVD+/-R write capability
- HDD: 640GB (two 5,200rpm 320GB drives) or 320GB (made up of two 7,200rpm 160GB drives)
- GPU: Intel’s X3100 or a 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
- Connectivity: 6 x USB ports, Wi-Fi (optional), Bluetooth (optional)
- Webcam: 1.3Mpix with microphone (optional)
