Asus Eee PC Officially Announced

ASUS has officially announced its new low cost Eee UMPC for beginners. The device is available 8g, 4G, 4G Surf and 2G Surf models, each featuring:

- 7" display
- Intel CPU & Chipset
- Ethernet
- WLAN
- Hi-definition audio stereo speaker
- Microphone
- Linux or Windows XP OS
- 2.03lbs weight

8G: built in camera, 3.5 hours of battery life, 8GB SSD, and 1GB RAM
4G: built in camera, 3.5 hours of battery life, 4GB SSD, and 512MB RAM
4G Surf: 2.8 hours, 4GB SSD with 512MB RAM
2G Surf: 2.8 hours, 2GB SSD with 256MB RAM.

Expect Asus Eee PC to appear within a few weeks from now. Prices will vary depending on the model from $299-$399.
