Hitachi Introduced its two Widescreen GPS Devices in Australia

 

Hitachi, a new name in the GPS world, presents its MMP401 and MMP501 widescreen GPS navigation systems in Australia.

MMP501 features a 5" anti glare display, AV IN connectivity to make use of the screen, for ex. watching DVD's, Bluetooth hands free, SiRF Star III GPS receiver, 2500mAh battery (we don't know how long it will work). The device costs appriximately $840.

MMP401's specs are almost the same, except that it has a 4" screen, the battery of only 900mAh capacity, and no Bluetooth. The price for this one is around $540.

I tested this camera for a client. I didn’t have the light running for more than 15 minutes. The battery lasted approximately 6 hours before recharging. The LCD, however, had a few dead pixels - never saw this before. Tried returning for exchange and had to put up quite a fight.
