Olympus EVOLT E-510 DSLR is an excellent mid-level dSLR digicam, a perfect choice for casual photographers.
It delivers great image quality with natural colors, good saturation, contrast and detail, and low noise (except for high iso images). On the default settings images are slightly soft but can be improved by setting the Noise Filter to Low. The camera gives very good control over image quality. Also it has very good range of image sizes, and a good choice of compression options. Take RAW images for maximum detail and color control, although JPEG potos are still very impressive. Purple fringing and red-eye effect are very low. Thanks to the flash assist the camera easily focuses even in low light conditions. There is no vignetting in photos, nor the barrel or pincushion distortion. Auto white balance and metering are also quite good.
