Toshiba introduced their latest ultraportable Portege R500 series laptop. The new
Portege R500-S5001X is the world's thinnest notebook measuring only .77" thin and weighing just 2.4lbs thanks to High Density Mounting Technology. In Q3 2007 Toshiba plans to adopt a 64GB solid state drive in the Portege R500 series to further reduce its weight to 1.72lbs.
Optimal configuration for the Portege R500-S5001X costs $1,999.
