Helio has presented their new Helio Ocean - world's first dual-slider
which has a traditional numeric keypad and a separate full QWERTY-style
keyboard.
The Helio Ocean features a 2.4", 260K-color high-resolution QVGA
display, external stereo speakers, a 2Mpix camera (with a special Helio
UP function), Bluetooth connectivity, 200 MB internal expandable
memory, USB Mass Storage Mode and built-in GPS technology. Ocean
supports a multitude of media formats such as MP3, AAC and WMA audio,
and MPEG4 and H.264 video. High-speed 3G network is also supported.
The device's embedded messaging dashboard provides out-of-the-box
access to Yahoo! Mail, AOL Mail, MSN Hotmail, Gmail, Helio Mail, and
EarthLink email, including the ability to add additional IMAP/POP3
email accounts.
Combining IM access through Yahoo! Messenger, AOL's AIM Service and
Windows Live Messenger, the Ocean's Contact list also syncs with
Yahoo!, AOL and Helio Mail address books and incorporates "live
presence detection."
Search is available directly from idle screen: when you type on the
QWERTY keyboard the search mode enables automatically. Ocean also has a
built-in HTML browser, combining all the features you need for browsing
the web.
The Helio Ocean is expected to be launched in Spring 2007 at a retail price of $295.
