Acer has started selling its new Aspire One D255 netbook which is the first model in the series to hit the US. The netbook is available at HSN.com (Home Shopping Network) and is going for $399 in a choice of four colors, icluding red, black, aquamarine and sandstone. Specwise it is very similar to other netbooks from other manufacturers, and features:

1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 dual core processor;
1GB RAM;
250GB hard drive;
10.1" display at 1024 x 600;
Intel GMA 3150 graphics chipset;
Wi-Fi connectivity

JVC came up with a couple of compact camcorders in the form of the Picsio GC-WP10 and GC-FM2.

Canon has unveiled three new digital cameras, including the S95, SD4500 IS (IXUS 1000HS) and SX130 IS models.

The S95 has features with 720p HD video capture and in-camera HDR scene mode. It will be vailable late August for $399.99.

The SD4500 IS model comes with 10x optical zoom and Optical Image Stabilization, and offers a Super Slow Motion Video Mode at 240 fps. Available early September for $349.99.

The SX130 IS comes with a 3.0" LCD screen and a 12x optical zoom lens with Optical Image Stabilization. Will be released in the end of the month for $249.99.

SanDisk has announced a new portable media player called the Sansa Fuze+. Here's a list of what it offers:

• 2.4" (320 x 240) capacitive touchscreen display;
• 4GB, 8GB or 16GB storage options;
• microSD card slot;
• Digital FM tuner;
• microUSB 2.0 port;
• Battery - up to 24 hours of audio playback and 5 hours of video playback;

The Sansa Fuze+ will hit the market soon, but the pricing wasn't disclosed.

SanDisk has announced the integrated SSD (iSSD), which they claim to be the the smallest 64GB variant in the world. It will be integrated directly in mainboards, and is no larger than a post stamp. The memory capacity ranges from 4GB to 64GB, with read and write speeds going up to 160MB/s and 100MB/s, respectively.

 

Unfortunately, we can't say with certainty when the first devices incorporating this new chip will hit the market.

Icoo has launched its latest portable media player, the M100HDC. It supports a multitude of video formats, including MKV, MOV, RMVB, RM, AVI(DivX/XviD/H.264), PMP, DAT, FLV, VOB, MP4, MPG and 3GP. And if you hate watching videos on its 4.8" display, you can always plug the player to your TV via the TV-out port.
